Can I just walk in and hire a storage unit?

There is almost always an employee present on our premises. Despite this it is always advisable to phone in advance on 64 82 1 7474 to say that you are coming, just to be sure. Our employees will then be pleased to answer any questions without obligation. If required we will help you to determine the size of your storage unit and arrange the rental agreement so that you can use the storage space immediately if required.

Can I see the storage unit first?

Everyone that wants to hire storage space from Seguro Storage is given a tour of the premises. An inspection of the most suitable storage space for your requirements is made with the branch manager. The tour is without any obligation.

How do I know how much storage space I need?

You can calculate this yourself quite easily by using our volume calculator or one of our employees will be pleased to do this for you. Goods can be stacked to a height of 2.5 to 3 metres in the average storage unit.

What do I need to rent from Seguro Storage?

Valid proof of identity (passport, driving licence or identity card), your bank account number (20 digits) and your NIE number (Foreigners’ Identification Number). Business must always provide a copy of their registration with the Chamber of Commerce and their CIF number (Fiscal Identity Certificate).

Do I have to make a reservation?

Making a reservation can be a very good idea if you don’t want to use your unit immediately. You will then be guaranteed the correct unit at the time you need it. As well as this, we can then try to keep the unit that is most suitable for you available.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

You can reserve a storage unit up to 4 weeks in advance, without reservation fees. It is also possible to reserve further in advance. This will enable us to look for the most suitable space for you. This is subject to reservation fees.

Can I store clothes and furniture on a long term basis? Will they remain in good condition?

Our storage spaces are dry, heated/cooled and ventilated. Our climate control system has been developed to reduce the temperature differences between night and day and this prevents damp. This means that nothing can happen to your clothing or fabric goods. You are welcome to hire a unit for as long as you need it.

How safe is my storage space with Seguro Storage?

Very safe! We have selected our premises on the basis of their security regarding break-ins. In addition to this there is continuous surveillance using cameras both on the inside and the outside. We have sensors, silent and audible alarm systems and direct links with a radio room, the police and the fire brigade. You can also rent an individual alarm system for your own door for a reasonable extra charge. However, we dare to say that this isn’t necessary.

Is my property insured by Seguro Storage?

Seguro Storage offers its customers unique self storage insurance, whereby the contents of your storage space are insured at extremely favourable rates. Our employees can give you advice for your specific situation. In some cases your household goods will already be covered by your own home contents insurance and you will only need to inform your insurance company that you are going to store some of your household goods out of your home. This is generally permitted for a period of up to six months but this depends on your insurance.

Do I have access to my property every day?

Customers renting storage space have daily access between 09.00 and 22.00hours. There is almost always an employee available on the premises. It is advisable to phone in advance on 64 82 1 7474 to say that you are coming just to be sure. New rental agreements can be arranged on any working day.
In emergencies you can call 64 82 1 7474 7 days per week; we are always available to help you.

How do I get my property to Seguro Storage?

You can choose. If you have a car that can transport your goods then you can drive into our premises with your car and, depending on where your unit is located, possibly right up to the unit. You may also decide to hire our professional removal van and/or lockable trailer for transporting your property safely. If you wish, you can let us collect your property within a maximum radius of 50 kilometres of our premises. Finally, Seguro Storage has unique collaborative agreements with removal and transport companies in your area as well, which enables us to offer the most competitive rates every time. The longer that you rent the cheaper it becomes!

Can I get close to my storage unit in my car?

In some cases yes, when this isn’t so Seguro Storage always has practical transport trolleys available and there is also a goods lift.

Will you also accept my goods if I am not available at my storage unit?

Yes. If we are informed in advance then Seguro Storage will ensure that your property is correctly received and will store it for you until you can put it in the storage space yourself.

Who has access to my storage space?

You can purchase professional cylinder locks from us, for which you will be given two keys, for locking your storage unit safely. You will be the only one that has keys and they cannot be copied. When you no longer need the storage space you may decide either to keep the lock for the next time that you need us or you can sell it back to Seguro Storage.

How do I reserve a trailer?

Our customers can always hire a trailer from Seguro Storage. A telephone call to your branch manager is sufficient and he will ensure that the trailer is ready when you need it. Make you reservation in good time.

How do I pay the rent to Seguro Storage?

Very easily, this is always paid automatically. To do this you give us authorisation or arrange a standing order yourself. Companies are always sent an itemised monthly invoice.

Can I also purchase a storage space at Seguro Storage?

That is not possible at present but it may become possible from March 2009.

How much advance notice is required for terminating the rental agreement?

Always give a minimum of 14 days notice in advance. Refer to the rental agreement and the accompanying General Conditions of Delivery for the exact conditions.

When will my deposit be returned?

Once you have terminated the rental agreement we will make a final statement. The deposit will be paid into the bank account that has been used within two weeks.

Can Seguro Storage help me move house and/or with transport?

We have our own transport and this enables us to provide transport and/or removal services ourselves within a radius of 50 kilometres of our branch. We have links with local removal and transport companies for cases where the volume involved is too large. Our employees will be pleased to help you contact professional partners that offer good value for money.

What are the advantages for start-up enterprises?

Flexibility! You can hire a storage unit that meets your immediate needs and you can always change to a larger or smaller space without any problems. If required, we will help you to move the goods to a new unit. You are not bound by long-term rental agreements.

Can I hire packaging material as well?

Seguro Storage does not rent packaging materials. It is better to use new boxes for safe transport and storage. We sell boxes and packaging materials of various types and sizes. See our site for further information.

Can I change my storage unit if I need something smaller/larger?

You always have the option of moving to a larger or smaller storage space. Come along to our office or call 64 82 1 7474 and your branch manager will arrange it for you immediately.
